Joan Albright is a writer of science fiction and fantasy, and a homeschooling mother of four children (and two cats, three fish, and a frog). She enjoys horseback riding, medieval re-creation activities, wilderness camping, and any combination of the three. She comes from a family with a strong military tradition, with three generations serving in the United States Air Force.
Since she was a teenager, Joan has been a voracious reader of science fiction and fantasy – the longer the better – and attributes her love of literature to the works of Anne McCaffrey, C.S. Lewis and Robert Jordan. She has been destined to write science fiction since she realized that she just didn’t have the math aptitude to be a physicist.
